Minori or Maiori

We will be visiting the Amalfi Coast for the first time even though we have traveled to Italy a number of times before. Since we have already visited Sorrento in the past, we will be staying in Positano a few nights to enjoy the village after the tour buses leave then staying 3 nts in either Minori or Maiori as a base to day trip to Amalfi, Ravello, Atrani.

Please provide opinions on which of the two you would consider best and why. Feel free to suggest any hotel or dining for your choice. We'd prefer a hotel with a water view.

My only rec is for Sal de Riso in Minori - to-die-for pastries and excellent gelati too.

One is slightly bigger, but they are right next to each other and without any other dramatic differences that I can think would sway one—I would start searching accommodations and see if that helps you decide.

We stayed in Maiori in June 2022. We found it wonderful for what you are looking for and for us, the bonus of not being too crowded and having mostly other Italian/European tourists felt wonderful. We stayed in a small hotel (Hotel Baia Verde) that had water view from the breakfast deck but not our room. The breakfast was good. I found the town useful for lower prices, laundry, and an overall less touristy vibe. We still had plenty of access via ferry and bus to places you mentioned.

We ate different gelato each day and enjoyed all. Had a great dinner from Donna Maria pizza on our balcony one night. We also ate a lunch at Taverna degli Apostoli in Amalfi and still dream about the pasta dishes.
