I hope I'm wrong but it looks like the only way to get to Ravello from Minori would be to walk or take a taxi? Plan was to get to Ravello and walk to Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. Villa Cimbrone, is by what I read only a 37min walk from Minori. Maybe rome2rio is off base. Would doing both places be possible?
You can take the bus
Or if ferry is running take ferry to Amalfi then bus or taxi to Ravello
Rome2rio is a fun tool but not the best source and not always accurate
I’ve walked from Amalfi to Ravello several times. If you’re an Olympic athlete and go all out, you may be able to do it in 37 minutes. More likely it will take 1 to 2 hours depending on your fitness level. And about that, I wouldn’t embark on that “walk” unless you’re in great shape. It’s uphill and all stairs. It’s 1.7 kilometers. I do love the option to work off calories from all of that bread and pasta, and I would certainly choose that for myself. Just take a look at it on google earth and you can see the elevation change.
I would take a taxi or a bus to Ravello and then you can do both villas. It’s definitely worth the views to be up that high.
thank you both...I will take the bus Amalfi and then bus to Ravello
Once you have experienced the bus, you may wish you were walking, just sayin'! In non-summer months, this is a wonderful way to experience the coast for someone of average+ fitness. (I am talking about the walking trail, NOT the main road)
I would strive for using the bus one way and the ferry/bus the other.
You can easily see both gardens while in Ravello.
I was just there last week. Very easy by bus. And even easy by bus with the winter schedule. Sitasud is the bus company.
A few years ago we stayed in Minori (loved it) and from there we went by car hire on to Ravello for our next booked accommodations. The driver was arranged by the host of our Minori accommodations. I do not recall the cost but it was not a long drive and made much more convenient by the car hire for luggage as well as a time saver. Will also add that we loved Ravello. While we did not walk from Minori to Ravello, we did walk the Lemon Trail from Minori to the next village, Maiori. We are in our 70's and not very athletic, but we took it slow and just enjoyed stopping to enjoy the scenery and take pictures along the route and finally ending with lunch in Maiori upon arrival there. I will say that Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo are beautiful but to really enjoy them, I believe it would be best to see them on separate days or at the very least devote a half day to each. Doing that (seeing both) after a walk from Minori to Ravello might not leave you with
enough energy to fully enjoy your time there. But this is coming from someone that is not athletically inclined!
Hi Jo,
Plenty of Minori info in the following looooooong TR/photo essay.
Our bus up to Ravello up from Minori involved a transfer at the Bivio stop, just before Atrani. Nice little corner there.
Enjoy. You may need to scroll back to the top/start.
