Minori (Amalfi Coast) to Capri and back - how easy to get to and from the island of Capri?

We are thinking about going to Capri for a day trip, possibly boat tour while there, and I am trying to understand how easy or hard it is to get to (and from) Capri from Minori on the Amalfi Coast.
When I look at Google maps, there seem to be two major ways:
1. Ferry from Minori to Amalfi, then ferry from Amalfi to Capri
2. Bus from Minori to Amalfi, then ferry from Amalfi to Capri.

Questions that I have, mainly, are:
1. Minori - Amalfi - Minori:
What's easier to get into - bus or ferry - for Minori to Amalfi in the morning (around 7-8 am), and then back from Amalfi to Minori in the late afternoon (around 4-5 pm)? I have ready some stories here that it might be hard catching a bus since they are often overloaded.. How about ferries? Is it easy to catch on when we need it? I assume it should be easier in the early morning (is 7-8 am still an "early morning" there?), but could be much harder in the afternoon.. Is that so?
2. Minori - Amalfi - Minori:
Is it easy to just catch whatever we need (bus or ferry) and when we need it? I mean, do I need to plan the exact timing ahead and book / buy the tickets in advance? Is the price changing closer to the departure or when paying on the spot? Is it possible to just go when we need and where we need and get the ticket right there? Do they ever sell out?
3. Amalfi - Capri - Amalfi:
The same questions about the ferry / transfer ride: Is it easy to be time-flexible with it? Or better to buy the tickets in advance? For this ride, since it's about an hour long, are there assigned seats? I see there are two main operators: Positano Jet and Direct Ferries. Which one is more reliable and more preferable?

Any other tips and recommendations are very welcome!! Ultimately what I need is to be sure we will get in time to Capri (if we want some tours there) and in time back to our base in Minori on the same day.

Thank you to everyone!

Ferries are normally easier to get onto as they are point to point in your instance, rather than trying to catch it towards Amalfi when it may already be full. A bus would work better the opposite direction when you get on it in Amalfi at its starting point.

I am really unsure of when the first ferries start though, you MIGHT be needing to do the bus (as they start MUCH earlier than ferries) if you wanted to catch a particular boat from Amalfi.

I have never experienced ferry tickets changing prices the closer you get to departure. Sometimes it is much easier to buy your return ferry from Capri when you purchase your first tickets, just because there could be long lines on the island, but that locks you into a time. I wouldn't say that the return to Minori tickets need to be purchased in advance as there's not normally a terribly long line.

I would say that the ferries don't NORMALLY sell out, but they do have maximum capacities. So they can't sell more than that, but I have experienced that they have enough boats working to normally be ok.

Minori-Amalfi-Minori, I found that the bus was busy but not overcrowded when we took it in late April of last year. The challenging part was finding the bus stop in Minori to get back to Amalfi. There was no sign. There was a sign across the street for the bus going toward Salerno and when I asked a local who was waiting for that bus she pointed across the street from her. Apparently one sign serves both directions even though the sign didn't indicate that.

We had considered the Travelmar ferry to and from Amalfi but the schedule didn't work out.

I can't help with a ferry from Amalfi to Capri, but no ferry we were ever on had assigned seats.

Regarding the Capri ferry, I took Positano Jet to and from Capri and recommend it. It was faster than the others and the layout was good if you wanted to get costal views.

Thank you Katherine, Allan, and Marco!
Looking at the schedule for Minori - Amalfi ferry, I think we will have to take a bus. Hopefully, they are not too overcrowded before 8 am.
