We are researching lodging for our stay in Sorrento in early October, and the Minerva Hotel is one of our top two contenders at this point. While reading reviews on Trip Advisor, I came across one from 2011 that mentioned there was a special Rick Steves rate there. Given that rooms there are now running $275/night(for a rm w. balcony & view)at that time of year, ANY discount would be helpful! If anyone knows about this, or just wants to tell us their opinion of the Minerva, that would be great!

Hello we are going to Sorrento last week of APril and are staying at the Hotel Belaire thru Queenslander Tours. Hotel Minerva is one of the properties they use also and it looks lovely. I will let you know how the hotels are when I return

I assume you're looking for luxury accommodations but if you're looking for something less expensive, try Ulisse Deluxe Hostel. I stayed there a year ago and was amazed by it. There is nothing "hostel" about it. Large rooms with huge baths, marble-tiled common areas as well as a spa inside the hotel.
Very good breakfast in large dining area.

Thanks, Sandra, I'd appreciate any input... And Teena, I will check out the Ulisse Hostel. I had run across it, but assumed it was a typical hostel, so didn't pursue it. We are not necessarily looking for luxury--but we are staying in small B&B's before and after Sorrento, so thought it might be nice to have a different experience at a larger place.
