How far is the train station in Milan to the Milan airport? Is there a train that goes to the Milan airport? Would it be possible to make the transfer in an hour and 25 minutes?
Hi Joyce. Assuming you are asking about Malpensa airport (Milan has a couple of airports), indeed there is a train between the city and the airport. These trains leave from two different stations in Milan. From Milano Centrale, the train usually takes 52 minutes (I did see at least one departure that was on a fast train, which got to the airport in 41 minutes). If you leave from Milano Cadorna station, the trip to the airport takes between 29 and 36 minutes, depending on your departure time. If you are flying out of Linate (the other Milan airport), there is no train, but there are buses available between the city and the airport. Hope you have a great trip!
Last May, we took a bus from the Central train station to Malpensa airport. It took about 45 minutes and only cost a few Euro. There's a kiosk outside the train station to buy tickets.
I always take the Malpensa Express Bus - just outside the train station.
It is fast, efficient and runs about every 15 minutes.
Joyce, It would be easier to provide more specific information if you could state which airport you'll be using. For example, Malpensa Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 or Linate??? The best transportation method will vary slightly between those. I also usually use the Malpensa Shuttle (Bus). The trip is about 50-minutes and the cost €7.50. Cheers!
