We are considering going to the worlds fair in Milan. Has anyone been? Would you recommend going?
How many days would you suggest?
We are concerned about it being overly crowded. We are going in the fall

There has been some previous discussion of this subject on this forum.
Perhaps I could say the consensus here (and we're largely North Americans looking into Europe from the outside based on periodic visits) is that:
Yes, the World Fair in Milan will most likely reduce the availability and increase the price of hotel rooms in the Milan area.
Even though the Fair is spread over a 6 month period, the influx of that many people over the March to September period seems likely to increase hotel prices, decrease hotel availability, increase crowds and lines, etc.
But if you want to go to the World's Fair, this is in the category of: if you want to play, you've gotta pay.
Again, this is guesses based on "common sense" rather than hard data.

I attended previous Worlds Fairs in Lisbon and Hannover and spent two days at each of them, to really see everything. However, one full day would have been adequate for many people.
