Milan Walking Route on Jet Lag Day

I will be flying into Malpensa, landing at noon, and I have a reservation at Hotel Berna near Milano Centrale. I do best to just get out in the daylight and walk as much as possible on my jet lag arrival day. I usually start getting very tired and sometimes a little dizzy - feel like I’m still in a plane, around 4pm, so it would be too far to go to Navigli.

I have been to everything at the Piazza Duomo during a previous trip. Any recommendations for a walking route loop with some interesting streets? As much as I would love to go inside a museum, going inside is really bad during that first afternoon. I am going to take a quick peek inside the Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, but that’s all.

Thank you!

From the Hotel Berna, walk half an hour to the Monumental Cemetery, then walk around in this incredible cemetery for as long as you want to --- it's free and you will not be bored, nor will you have to dodge traffic once you're in there. Almost like Venice in that way, perfect for walking off jetlag. It's my very favorite place in Milan after the roof of the Duomo and the Brera. The life-size or sometimes huge sculptures are extravagant, melodramatic, quirky, at times unintentionally funny, and like nothing you'd expect in a cemetery --- a team of oxen, for example. I'm pretty sure a map is available there or online, but you can just wander.

On your way to or from the cemetery, you will walk right by Eataly, so stop and get something light to eat.
