Milan transportation from airport and showers

We are traveling over 20 hours and I was wondering if most air ports have a shower so I can shower during our layover ? Our layover is in Paris ...

When we arrive in Milan malpensa airport our destination is Via Bernardo Rucellai 67, Milano

I was told to take transport to Milan central station then take bus 81. Does anyone know if this will be the easiest way ? Our flight arrives at 8:00 Pm and I know we will be beyond exhausted. I searched google maps and Moovit apps and see all sorts of different routes .

You might look into buying a 1-day pass to a business class lounge, which would have showers. I don't recall seeing showers for general use in major airports.

You might consider a taxi from the Milan train station to your hotel. It will cost more than the bus, but after a long day of travel it could be worth the small splurge.

Buy lounge access or Wet Ones and a change of clothes in the toilets.

How do I buy lounge access and is it expensive ?

Also do you know how much a taxi would roughly cost from Milan malpensa airport to Via Bernardo Rucellai 67, Milano, Lombardia 20126, Italy. It says it’s about a 45 min drive. Do they have Uber ?

Why not just take a taxi from Milano Centrale. It will be evening, likely 9:30 or 10 pm before you get to Centrale.

You could go from Malpensa to Milano Garibaldi (the stop before Centrale) and transfer to a local train to Milano Greco Pirelli. The station is on the other side of the tracks from your destination and involves a walk through an undertrack passageway. Not something I'd be eager to do at night hauling luggage.

A taxi would be expensive from Malpensa. 90 EUR is the fixed price fare. But a train ticket is 13 EUR and a taxi from Centrale I'd estimate at 10 to 15 EUR. How many people?

That's not what your original post said. "I was told to take transport to Milan central station then take bus 81."
There is a regular train, called Malpensa Express, that runs from Malpensa airport to "Milano Centralo" on the edge of the city centre. Price €13.
Details here: http://www.malpensaexpress.it/en/

I would recomend the train to Milano Centrale then a taxi. From the station, Via Bernardo Rucellai 67 is 3.7 Km.

If your flight arrives at 8 pm, and if all goes well at the airport, you will probably arrive at Centrale at 10 pm. Centrale late at night is sketchy and you will see a lot of riff raff. Also, Centrale is huge. I wouldn't recommend anyone, especially someone who is new to Milan after taking a long flight, go around looking for the bus stop. I agree with everyone else to take a taxi from Centrale.

Use the mytaxi app or the taxiblu app to order a taxi from Centrale to your destination. It works like Uber but its for taxis. Uber as we know it in the US is not a thing here and it is more $$$.

hey hey ulfsaxa12
loungepass.com under star alliance lounge.they have shower facilities, read the fine print. the payment is in pounds and fill in your info.
loungebuddy.com same lounge, payment in US$, with time limit. read fine print.
don't know where you're flying from or what airlines, my 3 cents is to take the train to milano centrale then a taxi to your hotel. enjoy and have a great time in italy, hope this helps

From the OP's other thread, his layover is at ORY, not CDG as everyone has assumed.

Modest proposal, book a room at the ORY Ibis Budget. Looks like $55. Get a shower and take a nap.

I just realized it is ORY airport. I don’t see any showers and I only saw rooms for $100+ at IBIS. We have a 6.5 Hour layover switching from openskies to vueling . Is this enough time to see the Eiffel Tower ? If we leave and come back do we have to go through TSA again ? How early should we come back for our flight ? This is one of my first times

Have you asked your lodging host/mgr about 'how to get there'?

The train from MXP to Milan Central train station and then the 3-4 mile taxi ride appears the best option. A taxi direct form the airport would be easiest, but may not fit your 'frugal' nature. But depending how tired you are when you arrive, it may lead to a different decision on what is 'smart' spending.

Good luck

There are 2 Ibis hotels next to each other, the Coeur de France and the Budget. Did you check the price of both? How many people are you traveling with?

Yes, you could "see" the Eiffel Tower, but it is unlikely you can go up in a timely manner, but you can try.

Once you leave the airport, you must go through security again. Is your luggage checked through to Malpensa? I suspect it will be as Vueling, Openskies, Iberia are part of the same airline group. If your bags are checked through, it is like a domestic flight. You should already have boarding passes, so you just have to get through security and be at your gate 1/2 before boarding, being back to the airport by 5 pm will be OK.

hey hey
thanks for the update on orly airport. they do have a lounge but no showers. like another poster, pack extra change of clothes and trial size bathroom items and freshen up if need be. like roberto says take an earlier flight to milano if you can. don't worry about changing clothes, lots of other overnight travelers traveling the same way as you. no need stressing, not worth it. you may need clairol nice and easy take the gray away. enjoy your vacation
