Milan tour reviews from recent visitors

I did a forum search of Milan tours and found that most of the tour posts were from several years ago. For those who have recently taken any Milan tours that include the Last Supper, the Duomo+rooftop, and/or a city tour (together or independently), may I please know the tours you took and what you thought of them? Links would also be wonderful but not necessary as I'm happy to look them up. Thank you!

Last September I did the guided tour of the Last Supper offered by the venue itself. I think it was 8€ over the price of admission. It was excellent. The guide handed out whisper sets and talked us through the whole venue. She was very knowledgeable and crammed in a lot of information in the short time you are allowed in.

I did the Duomo on my own with a Fast Pass ticket so I could take an elevator to the roof although there are still stairs to climb from there!! I downloaded the Duomo audio guide and it was terrible. I’d go with the onsite audio guide if you want one. I could not get the downloaded one to advance even though I had gone thru and downloaded the segments.

We were in Milan Sept 2022. We seldom take tours. We did the Duomo rooftop, and cannot understand why a tour would improve this fabulous opportunity. Perhaps you might learn about this statue or that one, but the main thing is just being up there and looking at the stonework, the tiles of the roof, the statues, the wedding-cake artistry of the stone-carving, and the vistas of the city. While up there, I saw no groups which might have been a tour - no one with the little pennant, or the earpieces, or other tour aspects. We consider that 45 min on the roof to be the highlight of our Milan visit.

Thank you, @Pam! I'll check this out.

@Paul-of-the-Frozen-North: LOL... I guess I wasn't clear on my post. What I meant in that case was tours of the Duomo that included access to the rooftop, not tours of the rooftop. We often do our own exploring of places rather than taking a tour, but we've also found that connecting with knowledgeable people can significantly enhance an experience. One time we lucked into finding a free docent in Salisbury cathedral and spent the next 2.5 hours with him. We saw and learned things I know we would have completely missed without him.

To be honest I’m not sure I’ve ever been with any docent like the free ones at Salisbury Cathedral!! I had a wonderful guy, then later at Evensong noticed he was in the Men’s choir.

I don’t know the shape of your trip but I also enjoyed the Pinocateca Ambrosiana museum that is just minutes away from the Duomo. I knew later in my trip I would go to the Vatican Museums and see the Raphael fresco of The School of Athens. I saw that this museum has the cartoon he did to block out his figures and thought that would be neat to see. It was very cool to know this is where he did his thinking. They also have Leonardo’s Codex Atlanticus. If you’ve never seen any of his handwriting/sketches they are amazing. No timed entry needed here. I just fit it in between my timed entries to the Last Supper and the Rooftop.
