Is photography permitted in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie while viewing the fresco .
I don't think so and I could be wrong as I was able to take photos at many sites if I did not use flash.. Someone who has been there recently may have more info. I took photos wherever I could (without flash) and I have none of the The Last Supper. I was surprised at how small the area was to observe the fresco. Glad I had the chance to do so!
No, no photos allowed in the chapel.
You can take photos in the church, the entry is free. As for the museum where the last supper is, now it is possible to take pictures with no flash.
Yes, I was surprised that you are now allowed to take photos (we were there last week... just no flash)
Thanks to all who replied. There was 1 no, and 2 yes's (without flash). I will take the camera.
Note that the Last Super hardly exists. What we have come to know as the Last Super over the years was mostly inpainting by restorers over the years. At the last restoration they removed the inpainting and what is left is fragmentary to say the least. Not much there there. Not very interesting as art but of course interesting as a sort of pilgrimage to an icon.
