Varenna is the easiest to reach by train (70 min). Varenna is a quaint lake town on the mid-lake area (the best part IMO)
There are ferries that cross the lake from Varenna to Bellagio also.

It's an easy trip by train. Varenna is a nice place to visit while Como is bigger and more to see. Depending on the time of the year a lake cruise around the lake is a good activity. We've been to Lake Como twice and enjoyed it both times.
