Train from Milan airport (which one) to Cinque Terre. Arriving 3 days ahead of my friends -- can someone guide me from Milan airport to perfect safe place in C.T. to base for a few days

CAT, I've seen your other message as well. From MXP, you will need to take a bus to the Milan Centrale train station. At the Milan Centrale station, you then take the train to the CT. Next, depending on which of the 5 CT towns you are traveling to, you might have to change trains at least once. CLICK HERE to see a typical morning train schedule from Milan to Monterosso.
The CT is very safe. Just watch where you put your luggage on the train. All carriages have overhead racks for your luggage. Pack light and place your luggage over your head. There are also places at the end of the carriages to place your luggage. If you place your luggage there and if you are not observant, it is easy for thieves to quickly remove your luggage from the train. This doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. Just be aware of your surroundings. You'll be fine.
