Thinking of taking a taxi from hotel in Milan center to Malpensa Airport as have a morning flight out and concerned with train travel challenges. Thoughts? Taxi cost and time vs train cost and time and hassle?

LP, this was my reply to poster with a recent, similar question:
Nathan, it's a long way from Malpensa to Centrale. The Malpensa Express train is a cheaper (12,00€ pp) and faster option depending on traffic.

The general agreement on that thread was that the express train is the fastest option. Malpensa, as one responder mentioned, is actually closer to the Swiss border than Milan so even the express trains (no traffic) take the better part of an hour. You may have complications if your flight is earlier than express train/bus could get you there, though. What time are you scheduled to fly out?
