Milan Soccer Game

I would like to go to a football match while we are in Milan (AC Milan) on October 16. Their website says tickets are sold out. Does anyone know if there are scalpers in Italy? That would solve my problems...

Hmm... Thank you for that. So, conceivably, I could just bring along my own letter just in case?

Yes, but the letter would have to be Italian. I'm paraphrasing what the letter actually said, but it was along those lines. On match day you will need to show your passport in addition to that letter to gain entry. Last time I was at San Siro they were checking everybody's ID but when the tickets checker saw my US passport he just waved me through without actually looking at the passport or letter. I'm fairly certain the professional scalpers outside the museum will provide the letter.

There are scalpers. But be advised that in order to gain entry into the stadium you must show ID that matches the name on the ticket. You can get around this with a letter which states the ticket has been transferred to you. If you wish to go that route, be sure the seller is going to give you this letter. The letter is a bit of a joke though, all it has to say is "this ticket has been transferred to a new owner", no confirmations numbers or approval from the team is necessary. Scalpers congregate near the entrance to the museum/stadium tour on non-match days. For sold-out matches I've had success with this travel agent which sells ticket/hotel packages: http://tinyurl.com/2f6hkqw
