Milan - other things to do in a day

Very disappointed. I opened the site for tickets to the Last Supper 3 days ago thinking May 29th would be available only to find out the site for May, June and July opened March 14th. Do you know if these tickets are scooped up by Tour guides and if so, should I book with one of them. Also is there any chance if I just walked up to the church on that day would any be available.
We arrive from Venice at 10. am .We are booked for the Duomo for 11.30. Are any other sites a must.
Your help would be appreciated.

People seem to shy away from the third-party tour operators, but we are glad we booked a visit with one. Not only did they provide transportation and the Last Supper visit, but also tour of La Scala, and the Galleria. The Duomo was closed or that would have been on the agenda. By itself, the Last Supper, for which you are only allowed a fifteen minute visit inside, would have been underwhelming.

Yes, there’s some tour group insider game going on there. I booked a tour with the visit included which was refundable. I kept an eye for random tickets that popped up, and cancel the tour when I found a ticket.

I’m pretty sure walking up would be hopeless.

I am about as naive as they come since I haven't yet been to Italy, but I just tried to get The Last Supper tickets for May 29th, too. I think they must be closed on Mondays. From what I could tell, there were no tickets until June 14 on the main website. I did find a couple tickets through a third party and just purchased them. We will do a "Walking tour of Milan following Leonardo Da Vinci with Last Supper included" on May 30 through Zani Viaggi. The reviews look great.

If you've already decided on the Duomo, do not pass up the extra ticket to get to the roof.

We found the Sforza Castle to be very interesting since Leonardo da Vinci is said to have designed some of it.
