Milan on a budget

I am looking for a budget friendly accomodation for one night in Milan, preferably easy access to transportation around the city. Open to B&B's or hotels. Thanks so much!

I stayed at the Hotel Garda - near the main train station and metro stations.
Have you tried looking on Venere.com or tripadvisior.com?

Yes, I have been researching on both but Milan just pricey. Thank you for the recommendation as this is one of the best prices I have found. Do you happen to have any recommendations for Rome? I am trying to narrow down my apartment choices at the moment.

I also like Hotel Garda, last summer I paid €50 for a single with bath. Breafast was extra, so I would usually pick up something wonderful at the train station on my way to the main sights; all were easy metro rides from the hotel (metro stop a block away). Restaurants in the area are not great, you can do better closer to the main sights.

The Antica Osteria Cavallini is 2 blocks away at Via Mauro Macchi and Via Alfredo Cappellini. Very good. Go early and eat with the tourists or go late and eat with the locals.

It all depends on what time of year. If there's a big trade show or fashion week, prices go up. Nothing happening in town, prices go down. When are you looking at?
