Milan (mxp) to bergamo (bgy)

I have a flight that is landing at MXP at 8:30 and I need to get to BGY for a flight that leaves at 13:30 (1:30 PM). I can't seem to find how to do this. Is there a shuttle that goes from one airport to the other? It seems like the buses only go into the towns.

Also is this a enough time to get from one airport to the other? I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Thank you for your response.

I looked at the bus schedule and I am having trouble understanding if it actually leaves from MXP airport or if it leaves from the center of Milan. Also it seems to list only trips from Bergano to Milan not vice versa. Unless I am reading this incorrectly.

My flight lands at 8:30 and I need to be in Bergama for a 130 flight and I am not really understanding what times I would be able to take that shuttle bus.

I greatly appreciate your assistance.

Look at the bottom half of this link. It shows the reverse direction.

EDIT: the schedule shows both M-F and Sa-Su times (much more limited)

When it says APT that is the stop at the airport. It departs from terminal 1and 2 at Malpensa. The journey takes 2h. The shuttle runs about every 2 hours. It looks like the 11 am shuttle is the first one you might have a chance to take. It would get you to the Bergamo airport at 12:40.

Personally it sounds like a very tight squeeze to me getting from MXP to BGY in your time frame. Do you need to check into your BGY flight 1-2 hours prior to your flight? I'm assuming that the BYG flight is a separate ticket. Have you priced what a ticket purchased on the spot at a later time would be as a backup plan so you don't stress out?

When coming from Malpensa, the bus reaches "ORIO APT" first, before ending at Bergamo city.

On rome2rio.com it says a taxi from airport to airport (MXP to BGY) would cost $150 and only takes 1h. This might be something to look into or hiring a private transfer if your connection is that tight. You could consider this against the cost of not being able to use your already purchased tickets for your flight and having to buy tickets on the spot for the BGY flight.

We have a similar flight to flight situation this summer with two unconnected flights although they arrive and depart from the same airport. Believe me, we have explored options A, B and C for us...

RyanAir by any chance? Or a different small airline like EasyJet?

I won't swear to it as we haven't done it but I'd be really surprised if a cab could make it from Malpensa to Bergamo in an hour. Not sure I'd trust Rome2Rio on that one.

A lot is going to depend on traffic.

Still a nail biter for me... The Malpensa express goes every 1/2 hour and takes nearly an hour (52min) to get to the Milan central train station. Then they have to find the bus and buy tickets and continue on for 1 hour on the bus. I again think they would be lucky to be on the 10:15 or 10:45 express. Very tight IMO.

Are you sure that there's no reasonable flight from Malpensa to your destination? Try www.skyscanner.com if you haven't already. Last time that a question like this came up, the solution was a better flight option.

As Nigel mentioned, I assume you're connecting with a RyanAir flight?

Another possibility might be to use the Malpensa Express to Milano Centrale (~52M) and then Regionale to Bergamo (~48M). When you arrive in Bergamo, take a Taxi to the airport (shouldn't be too costly as it's a short trip).

As Laura mentioned, were there no flights available from Malpensa or Linate? Where are you going?

My problem is I realized it was a different airport after I booked the flight. I realized it almost immediately but there was nothing that I could do because it is Ryanair and they were not willing to refund the flight.. I am flying from Milan to the Island of Kefalonia in Greece and then visiting Italy on my way back. Once I realized my mistake, I had wanted to change my Delta flight to Athens and then take Aegean to Kefalonia. But I will be losing money on the Ryan air ticket and also have to buy a new Aegan ticket.
