Milan: MXP into the city?

Hi,

We will be flying into Milan in ten days or so and are considering our options to get from the airport to our hotel in the Duomo area. Is there an advantage to either the Malpensa Express train or the shuttle buses? I'm expecting we'll be pretty tired after the flight so would prefer whichever is easier / less confusing. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Bruce

FYI: There are 2 separate Malpensa Express lines. One goes to Cadorna Station which is closer to the Duomo so might be a little better for your hotel. The other Malpensa Express line goes to Milan Centrale Station as does the shuttle bus.

Train will be get you there on about an hour

Taxi or shuttle bus is unpredictable due to traffic

Take the train

Good that you are getting your options but you don't actually have to decide until you get there and see how you feel, lol. I flew into Milan in 2022 and by the time I got there I'd been wearing an N95 for about 24 hour and was just done with being near people. I opted for a taxi to my hotel near the Duomo. There are big signs at Malpensa listing the fixed fares from there into Milan. When I went it was 100E but looks like it's 110E now.

I just went to the taxi rank and made sure the driver accepted a CC and knew the fare before I got in. I am a solo traveler and sometimes I just want the easiest way.

We were in Milan a couple of years ago. We took the train to the Cadona station and then got a taxi to our hotel a block from the Duomo. Everything went very smoothly. Good luck with your trip!
