Milan MXP Customs

My daughter and I are travelling through Milan to Athens this coming spring. Our transatlantic flight gets in at 9:25 and looking at a flight at 11:05 to Athens. We will have no checked bags. This leaves us 1:40 to clear customs and get to the next gate. I have never travelled trough MXP before, is this enough time?

FYI. Probably will book a flex ticket just in case anyway. TIA

You will go thru Customs in Athens, just a matter of walking thru correct door

You will go thru (Immigration) passport control in Milan
1 hour 40 min could be ok but not if your flight is late
What is check in cut off time for your Athens flight? Usually 30 min so you really don’t have an hour and 40 min

The flight schedule between now and next spring (which starts about 8 months from now) could change otherwise that is enough time. If you don't make the connection due to the first flight not leaving on time the airline will just rebook you on the next available flight with space.

Thanks.

I'm not sure of the cut-off time as I haven't booked that ticket yet. Just the transatlantic one. Looking at Aegean Air as they are in Terminal 1 where I arrive.

Since you are booking a separate ticket Milan to Athens you are gambling give yourself at least 4 hours to make the connection and not just 1 hour and 40 minutes. If the airline operating the transatlantic leg arrives late causing you to miss the Milan to Athens, they are not obligated to fix that.

We will have no checked bags.

Will your bag comply with the 8kg limit Aegean has? ( and the dimensional limits?)

Looking at "spring" I see a 1055 AM departure, not 1105; I know it is just 10 minutes but it could be meaningful.
Your inbound flight can be up to 15 minutes late and still be considered 'on time' in airline statistical records. Your inbound flight could arrive 'on time' and leave you just 75 minutes , not 100 minutes, to make the change.

No idea where you are coming from but looking at the options for MXP-ATH, I think I would look at some other way to get from home to ATH. From what I can find you have a 'everything needs to work perfectly' to make a (scheduled) 90 minute transfer, or waiting til almost 7PM for the next Aegean flight.

The flex ticket gets you a no fee change, but if the later flight is already full.......

Good luck and happy travels

( not the kind of stress I would choose)
