Milan Metro to see the Last Supper

My husband and I will be taking the train from Varenna to Milan and onto Venice. We would like to stop in Milan and see The Last Supper. Is there a Metro station at Centrale F.S. and how much time we should we allot to travel to the Church of Santa Maria and back to the train station? We want to be in Venice before dark and we are traveling in October.
Thanks,
Kathy

You do realize that you have to purchase advance tickets months ahead to see the Last Supper?

As stated, you need a reservation to see the Last Supper well in advance of your going and if time is a factor, you will need to take a cab. The area around the church has all been built since WWII and the buildings all look alike, so getting your bearings is important once you get to the area.

Thank you for your suggestions. It sounds like a taxi is the best idea. We wanted to make sure it was doable before we made the reservation. If we can't reserve a time slot we will find something else to do and see the Last Supper another time.

I called and made reservations this morning for the Last Supper. It was easy and the time slot is perfect for our day. Thank you again for the suggestions and comments.
