Milan metro luggage ticket and 24 hr pass

Hello, my family of 4 will be in Milan for 1 night so I’m looking at purchasing four 24 hour passes. It says we only validate it once but I assume we still will have to run it through the turnstiles at every entry and exit? Is validating different than using it for entry and exit? Also, it says we should buy a luggage ticket if we are traveling with luggage. We will have RS travel backpack’s which will sit on our laps so I’m assuming we won’t need the luggage ticket. Any thoughts?

Yes, you need the ticket for entry into and exit out of every stop. Validating is the same as entry and exit, you run the ticket through the turnstile. No, you don’t need a luggage ticket.
