We are flying into Malpensa in July and staying at the Park Hyatt for a couple of nights. My understanding is that the hotel is into center of Milan, near the cathedral. What are the best options from transfers, other than a hired car?
I always take the shuttle bus from the airport to the central train station.
Very convenient and then right outside the station is a metro station and you can
get to the Duomo Square via the metro.
(I always stay at a hotel about 2 blocks from the Central Station - with metro
station on the corner.)
There is also a train that goes from the airport into the city - but I have never used it,
maybe someone else can comment on that???
I have used both the bus and the train, I prefer the train because it doesn't get slowed down in traffic. Just follow signs after you clear entry at the airport.
Take the Malpensa Express train to Cadorna station. It's about a half mile from the Park Hyatt. The other train (and bus) goes to Centrale station, which is about 1 1/2 miles from the Park Hyatt.
Monica,
I'd suggest using the method that Sam suggested. Use the Malpensa Express train that goes to Cadorna station rather than Centrale, and that will get you close to the hotel. You can buy tickets at the airport station when you arrive there (DON'T forget to validate!). After a long international flight and with luggage, I'd use a Taxi from Cadorna to your hotel.
Malpensa Express & taxi it is, thank you!
Do we validate inside the train or on the platform, do you all remember? I have seen it both ways in Europe.
