We will be flying home out of Milan. Our flight is scheduled for 9:20 a.m. should we plan to be at the airport a full 3 hours in advance or is 2 hours sufficient? We will be spending the night at the Moxy Milano hotel near Terminal 2 so getting to the airport will be relatively easy.

Is your flight direct to US or will you be changing planes somewhere in Europe?
If direct to US then yes 3 hours preflight
If not then 2 hours is fine

I stayed at the Moxy last time, and it is convenient to walk across the street, although I had to take a shuttle at the close building to go to a different terminal. I waited in a line for the workers to open some doors for the international checks, and I do remember walking a long ways up & down some hallways through the process.
