We will be in Milan for one day on the front side and also on the backside of trip. We would like to be near the Duomo,but not nec, easy transportation is nec. Looking for clean, private bath, safe and inexpensive ($100-150)...any suggestions?

Try the Hotel Ritter. It's walking distance to many places, and it's in your price range, and clean.
Not fancy, and great for a one day stay.
