Hi everybody,
I’m planning a trip to Milan and lake como area for August 2019 and somehow would like to add some mountain region to the trip without overloading and rushing through the Italian summer heat. Any ideas how to do this the easiest way? I’m a solo female traveler in my mid 30’s, fit and active and comfortable traveling through Europe by myself but wouldn’t want to rent a car.
Would like 2 full days in Milan,
3 days in Varenna ( taking the ferries to Bellagio, Villa Charlotta, Menaggio and other places, open for suggestions).
That leaves me with 2-3 days for one more place.
Looking into taking the bernina line from tirano to st Moritz or chur or a ferry, bus, train from Verena to Lugano on the way to Zermatt???
Glacier express from Zermatt to St Moritz??
What do I do once I’m in St Moritz or Zermatt? Is it worth the hassle? Any organized day tours you could recommend?
I need to book my flight and hotels ASAP but need to get an idea of the most efficient itinerary first. Estimated travel dates will be landing in Italy Friday August 9th, leaving on Sunday the 18th.
Thank you so much for any suggestions!!!
