Definitely need reservations. Make your reservation now!

I missed my window on this (arriving 29 Sept staying 1 day) and the only available ticket when I started looking was for the first viewing opportunity that morning which unfortunately is before I get there. Nothing else available for weeks after that. I just didn't realize how few tickets are actually available for the Last Supper and how popular they are. Others have noted that sometimes tickets do become available closer in when previously reserved spots are released, but don't count on it if your day is sold out.

There are various tour companys that include the Last Supper as part of their tours of Milan. Not sure if you want to do something like that or even have the time, but it does give a second chance to get to see it if the tickets are otherwise sold out.

gale, the visit is highly regulated - you only get 15 minutes inside the viewing area - so that you must be on a scheduled entry ticket. Seems like most of the tickets are bought up quickly by tour operators who package the visit with a tour of the city, so if you can't get a ticket from the actual site, the third-party tour operators are a viable option.

We did the walking tour that included the 'Last Supper' and it was excellent -- well worth the time and money. If I remember correctly, it lasted about 3 hours and we learned so much about Milan, the cathedral, the history of the city, as well as lots of information about the painting itself. You can make reservations for these ahead of time, so you can plan the rest of your time accordingly.

If you don't want the entire tour of Milano, you may find tickets through a broker (markup on price but not huge). I have used Select Italy often, the voucher will be emailed to you right away.

Yes, definitely! We tried to make reservations for Mid-October and it was already booked. However, we signed up for a 3 hours tour which guarantees entrance to the Last Supper.

It's September 3. Anyone else trying to log on to Vivaticket?

Perhaps wait until it is business hours (9 or 10am) in Italy, 2-3 hours from now.
I would think the release of tickets happens then.
Good luck.

The viva ticket website doesn't show tickets available, but I called at 2:00. It took about 10-15 minutes to connect,

Success! I purchased 3 tickets and received confirmation already!
