My wife and I leave at 10:30 A.M. from Malpensa Airport. Most airport hotels are expensive and require a taxi. Is there a Milan hotel that is reasonably priced near bus or train transport to the airport? J&J Coronado Calif.
Joe,
You might consider staying near Via Dante, in the vicinity of Cadorna Station. From there you can take the Malpensa Express (train) to the airport. It's an easy 40-minute trip and not affected by traffic issues. Current fare is €11.
The London Hotel (listed in Rick's book) is an easy 5-minute (or so) Taxi ride from Cadorna station.
The Malpensa Express has a ticket office in Cadorna Station and I like to to buy my ticket the day before I'll be going to the airport. That way there's one less thing to worry about on the day of travel.
A departure at 07:27 would get you to the airport at 08:07.
Happy travels!
I've also stayed at the Hotel London which Ken suggested. I walked to the Cadorna station ... I'd say it was about 6 blocks or so.
