Plan on doing the Italy 10 day tour in Oct/Nov of 2011. We want to fly into Milan a few days earlier and then head to Venice for the start of the tour. Hotels seems a little pricey in Milan. Can anyone recommend a clean and safe hotel (3 star) for around $100-$125 a night. Thanks.

Rebecca, Check your local Library or larger Bookstores to see if you can find a copy of the Italy 2011 Guidebook, which lists a good range of Hotels in Milan in different parts of the city. That would be the best resource for finding a Hotel that meets your criteria in terms of cost and facilities. The books usually include websites for the Hotels, so you'll be able to contact them directly to book a room. Are you taking one of the ETBD tours? If that's the case, you'll be provided with a copy of the Italy Guidebook so you won't need to buy one. Happy travels!

Check with venere.com and trip advisor.com for hotels or b&b's. Both sites will provide choices, pricing, map locations, and client reviews. We frequently stay at the Hotel Berna on Via Napo Torriani 400 meters from the train station, but it is a 4 star property. Buon viaggio,
