We are a party of five women, spending April 2-3 in Milan, and are looking for a nice, inexpensive hotel. There aren't many listed in Rick's book, so I'm hoping someone here has some suggestions. Thanks!

When I go to Milan I try to stay close the the main train station - because there are excellent Metro connections, buses, etc. Also "walkable" to many places (I'm a big walker)
I stay at the Hotel Berna or the Garda - they are across the street from each other and loads of posters on these forums recommend.
I try the Garda first - because their prices are best
But for me either place is an ideal location.

Same as Frances - these two are across the street from each other. Breakfast is included at Berna, I think it's extra at Garda. Short walk to the metro and to Milano Centrale station. VyTa bar at the station is my favorite for breakfast if I don't get it at a hotel.
