Milan Hotel One Night

We are arriving in Milan (Centrale) on Tuesday evening 12 April 2022 at 18:55 (From Verona). We would like to select a hotel to spend the night and have a nice "Last night" meal in Milan before transiting to Malpensa the next morning.

We "did" Milan a few years ago, have no particular interest in Milan other than a nice evening.

Our flight on KLM leaves at 12:50 so we have time to get to the airport on Wednesday via Shuttle Bus, train or taxi.

Any suggestions for a convenient hotel?

The Hotel Berna is very nice and close to the airport transportation hub/train station.

There are many great restaurants in Milan. I suggest checking Yelp, Trip Advisor, etc. and see the consensus of them on a restaurant.

I had lunch here once and the food was excellent. https://www.ristorantegalleria.it/

Hotel Berna is a short walk from Milano Centrale. Next morning walk back the station and take Malpensa Express train to Malpensa. Trains go every 30 minutes and take about 50 minutes to get to the airport.

If I were doing that I would probably stay again at the Hotel Berna or at is annex across the street...

We stayed at Canova Hotel - MILAN. There were 4 of us and we had 2 rooms. It is located near the train station. We ate in the mall area near the Milan Cathedral at a nice restaurant but I do not remember the name.

Our one night in Milan was spent at the Starhotels Anderson. We chose it because it was within walking distance of Milano Centrale train station. It was the last night of a great, but exhausting vacation. We had drinks and excellent snacks in the bar. They arranged airport transportation that worked without a hitch. We left too early to check out their much-ballyhooed breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.

Thank you all. Booked at the Berna, last piece of a replacement trip from late March 2020!

Dinner at the Galleria Restaurant when there is a McDonalds right down the street? Just kidding, sounds wonderful.

Just stayed at Hotel Berna this past Monday on our way back from Turin. Very pleasant stay there, and easy, quick walk to Milano Centrale. We walked at 5:30 a.m. to the station and felt perfectly safe. We purchased our tickets the day before at the station, and took the 5:55 a.m. Malpensa Express to MXP. 13 euros per person. The train had many stops along the way, and took about an hour to Terminal 1, so leave enough time.
The night before we left, we ate next door to the hotel at Osterla Italian. It was nice, though I wouldn't characterize it as the most memorable meal I have ever had. There was another restaurant across the street from the hotel, but I had forgotten to ask the front desk staff for a recommendation, so not sure which one was better..
