Milan Hotel near Cadorna Station

We have a 10:30AM flight out of Malpensa Airport in the morning. As we will be arriving by train the day before, from CT and wanted to see Last Supper that afternoon. I was thinking about staying near the Cadorna Station and then taking an early MXP Express to the airport. Is this doable? If so can anybody recommend a good hotel near this station.

Yes, for instance, if you want to be at the airport by 8:00, you can leave catch the Malpensa Express about 7:28, or at 6:58 for more comfort. Get breakfast in the airport. See a hotel recommendation that someone made earlier this week. You can also use Google maps to find hotels near the station, then investigate them further; it's only one night, right?

Yes only one night and we thought that by staying near Cadorna Station we could have some time to see Las Supper and possibly explore some.

Ran,

As suggested in the link that Laura provided, London Hotel would be a good choice. It's very close to Via Dante and some nice restaurants (there's a good restaurant right across the street from the hotel as I recall), and also with easy walking distance to the Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and Sforza Castle.

More importantly (and to answer your question), it's only about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel to Cadorna station. I wasn't in the mood to walk with luggage, so asked the hotel to pre-arrange a Taxi and that worked well. You could always walk to the station the day prior to travel and buy your ticket, which will provide a good indication of how long it will take. DON'T forget to validate your ticket prior to boarding the train on the day of travel.

Thanks all for the info. I have booked rooms at Hotel London. Seems like the hotel room rates in Milan varies depending on if conventions are in town or not.

Yes, Milan is one of Europe's major convention cities. Not only do rates go up, but vacancies can be hard or impossible to find. Back in 1989 when I checked one place in March, they explained that they were fully booked for the entire month of March - and for all of September as well (these months have major fashion shows).
