Milan Hotel dilemma

Looking for Milan hotel recommendation for two nights! We arrive the afternoon of June 14, and have the full day of June 15 to sightsee so we think we would like to stay somewhat close to the main sights. I know – would be nice to have another day, but can’t do it this trip! We have a 6:50 am departing flight the following morning, June 16, from Milan Malpensa airport, which means we need to be at the airport by about 4:00 am. This means we'll need to be in a taxi headed to the airport no later than 3:00 am if we stay in the city center. We've considered staying near the airport, but would rather stay in only one hotel both nights. And if we did stay near the airport, we’d lose sightseeing time going back and forth on the train, which I understand takes 50-60 minutes. If you’d suggest we stay near the city center, would you please provide hotel recommendations that might be conducive to the fact that we will be leaving the hotel very early in the morning?

I'll second the recommendation of Hotel Duca di York. Not only was it very affordable, it had a perfect location, great breakfast and the staff bent over backwards to help us get tickets to the Last Supper.

You won't go wrong staying there.

Thank you, ChristineH and DebH! We do fly through Paris so I appreciate your suggestion that we don't have to get to MXP quite as early as I though we should. I see on my flight ticket, it says "Latest last check-in" at 6:10 am. I won't hold you to it, but do you think arriving by 5:00 am to the airport would be plenty of time?

I think 5 am is fine
The check in desk may not even be staffed til then
Be in a taxi by 4 leaving Milan should get you there on time

We are staying at the Hotel Duca di York in May. Several people recommended it to me.
