Any recommendations for small, free walking tours in Milan? I've been checking out a few, but I don't always rely on reviews. We'll be there the middle of February-Brrrr!

Things are usually worth what you pay for them. We recently heard the low-down on these from one our regular correspondents. The guides have to pay a per person fee to the tour company, a picture of the group is taken (so the tour company knows how much to charge the guides), then the guide hopes that the tips will exceed his/her cost.
