So the Duomo, the Galleria, Sforza Castle and Last Supper are all nearby. Last Supper requires a ticket, which may be a challenge if you mean this month.

By all means you have to see Sforza Castle and Last Supper (which, when I was on an Expedia tour, was en route past Sforza Castle)

We had almost exactly the amount of time you will have.

We skipped the Last Supper and did a long walk which included the Duomo (interior), Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Basilica San Lorenzo Maggiore/Colonne di San Lorenzo, Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, the exterior of Sforza Castle and some odds and ends along the way, although nothing inside other than the churches mentioned.

We figured as we'd be held captive in a coach airline seat for most of the next day, keeping the body moving for those final hours would beneficial. :O)

Thank you for the information. I am unable to book the last supper since it’s so close. But I agree with the walking and I’m hoping to cover most of what you posted. Saw their is an opera at La Scala that evening but we will probably just have a nice leisurely dinner. Want to savor the last Italian meal before we fly home early next day.

Just walk around. There's a pedestrian street leading out of Piazza del Duomo with lots of fashion shops and bookstores. Take the metro to Porta Genova and check out the Navigli district. Navigli are canals that were used to bring goods in and out of the city; now the area is a fashionable bar and restaurant district. And Milan is all about new stuff. While there is a lot of history, you might get a better idea of it by checking out the top tier fashion house showrooms and then take a metro ride out to the Fondazione Prada, a good modern art site/museum designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. He did some fascinating conversions of old industrial buildings, and there's a new tower. The grounds are great for relaxing, too, and there's actually a cafe designed by the US film director Wes Anderson. Milan is definitely the place to take a break from Old Europe and see what's exciting and vibrant. It's Italy's New York.
