Any idea the situation of Milan Expo? Always long queue?
We have already spent 3 days there and expect to go back later during the duration of the expo. You NEED to get your tickets in advance or there is no guarantee that you will get in at all. There are long queues plus safety rules in Italy force them to limit how many people can get in per day or at a time. Those with tickets bought in advance definitely get in. Others can stand in a long line to buy tickets IF there is going to be room that day. We bought our tickets at https://tickets.expo2015.org It is completely amazing and well worth a visit. They will have millions of visitors so go ahead and get your tickets.
Any updates? We plan on visiting tomorrow. There are many horror reports on Tripadvisor regarding long lines, but most seem to be reporting their experiences on Saturdays.
Our plan is to go early, return to hotel and go back at night...even though we will have to buy an additional night ticket.
Unfortunately my answer is a bit late for "tomorrow" which is today.... We went yesterday (Monday), arriving at 15:00. By 19:00 we had had enough! There was no line to get in with our pre-purchased tickets, but the lines at the major pavilions were insane. 3 hours for Japan, 2 for the UAE, endless also for France, Russia, China, Slovakia, and the list goes on. USA pavilion was easy to enter by 17:00 and the small country "clusters" (Arid, Coffee, Chocolate, Lentils and Vegetables, Sea...) were lightly attended. A lot of the small country pavilions were basically markets for their crafts. Food Truck Nation by the USA was lightly patronized in late afternoon, but some restaurants were impossible at all times.
We enjoyed walking through, but 4 hours was enough. They'd have to offer free gold nuggets for me to stand in line for 2 hours or more. It is an interesting site and the logistics are handled well: it's clean, there is shade, and a few quiet corners, access to restrooms and water is good. There are lots of staff and volunteers to give info. The wine and cheese snack at Slow Food (10.00 euros) was great and it was a quiet corner for an aperitivo. I must say we are not people who would go to a fair as we do not like crowds much. EXPO felt more like a giant trade show, not for companies but for countries. Glad we went, not going back.
Have to add: The hourly show at the Tree of Life was fun. Hourly on the hour. I hear the after dark show (starting at 22:00?) is excellent, but we did not have the interest to stay 3 more hours.
This must be one of the last threads that Terri Lynn posted to, 3 months ago. Has anybody heard from her?
