We got the latest time available for Milan duomo terrace which is 3:30 - 4 and the ticket says we need to get there at 3:30 for security checks. Just wondering how strict they are with the entry time? If we arrive towards the end of the time band, say around 3:45/ 3:55 but before 4, will we still be allowed entry? We are seeing the last supper before this time a lot so I’m afraid we will be quite rushed (but better than the alternative of not seeing!). Thank you.
When we were there in Sept 2022, the security check took about 20 sec. I think they look in bags. The line was not huge. I assume you are taking the elevator up (stairs can be climbed). Everyone who is capable walks down - elevator down is only for those who are impaired.
I agree with Paul and will add that I got to the Duomo early. After hanging around for about 10 minutes and noting no line, I went up and asked if I could go in 30 minutes early and was waved thru. It was definitely the "look-in-your-purse" kind of security in 2022.
The time is not binding, however lately the queues are really long, even with fast track etc, people are in line for more than 30 minutes, so be prepared.
Thanks everyone, we visited the duomo today. Our last supper ticket was for 3 pm. We took #16 to the duomo and made it to the duomo terrace just before 4 and there was no queue and no problem going in. A bit of rain but all worked out!
