If you are standing in the main piazza facing the Duomo, Gate 1 is on the left side. Gate 2 is at the back left corner, and Gate 3 is at the back right corner.
We arrived to Gate 3 at 11:15 and got in the line for our 11:30 time. It was mid October and the line was about 15 min to get inside.
