How bad are the lines to enter the Duomo? We'll be in Milan 8/29 - 8/30. Thanks!
I was there in September 2015 in the afternoon and I did not find the lines to be bad at all. The only lines were to buy tickets to go inside or up on the roof. If you go to the building directly behind the Duomo, there is a Tourist information office and there were no lines there to buy tickets. The ticket office at the Duomo is in a trailer like building just to the right of the entrance. The wait in that line was about 15 to 20 minutes. Be sure to go up on the roof. It was a blast walking around. We took the stairs up instead of the elevator and it wasn't bad at all and we got some great views of the statues on the Duomo on the way up.
Hi Marie,
We're in Milan now and went to the Duomo yesterday. I recommend getting there on the early side. We got there at 10 and the line was almost nonexistent. When we came down from the terrace at the end of our visit around noon, the line to go into the Duomo was VERY long. Tickets were sold in the info office just past the Duomo museum, I also suggest taking the stairs to the terrace, they're narrow but a relatively easy climb. Also the line for the elevator tends to be longer. Have a lovely trip!
Tickets are sold in the Duomo museum gift shop and the line for tickets can be long, so get there early and take a number.
