I'm not too worried about this but figured I would ask anyway. In the US the neighborhoods around trins statin are not the best most cities have to offer. In Europe, they seem to be fine, at least from what I've seen in London, Paris, Lisbon, and a few othes. This will be my first time in Milan so I am wondering how safe people fell walking to from their hotel to dinner and back in the neighborhood around the Centrale station.

I've always felt very comfortable in the area around Milan Centrale. In fact, we will be staying in the area before/after our upcoming flights.

We weren't really going to stay in Milan at first, but this is all pretty much last minute and I couldn't find a reasonable plac in Varenna so we'll day trip. And it's not like Milan is a bad place to visit. There's plenty to make worth the trip all on it's own. Thanks again.
