My wife and I are flying to Milan in early September. We have nine days and in that time, we want to see Milan, go somewhere in the Alps to see the views and do some hiking, and go to the Riviera to relax for a few days.
We were thinking of an itinerary like the one below. It seems like a good balance of covering a lot of ground with time to relax but we're very open to suggestions. We also have no idea where to stay in the Alps. I find the mountains to be breathtaking when I fly over and have always wanted a chance to see them from the ground.
Day 1: Drive from Milan airport to Lake Como and stay overnight. (Which town should we stay in?)
Day 2: Drive from Lake Como to our destination in the Alps, passing through and spending a little time in Turin.
Day 3: Spend the day hiking in the Alps.
Day 4: Drive to Nice
Day 5 Relax in Nice
Day 6: Drive from Nice to Genoa
Day 7: Drive from Genoa to Milan
Day 8/9: Milan
Thanks in advance!
