Milan Airport to Train Station

We are three adults with three suitcases. We want to take a train from Milan to Florence. What is the best way to reach Milan train station from the Airport (MXP)?

Use the Milan Express which is a train right to the Centrale Train Station.

Note that the train from Malpensa goes to two different train stations in Milan. The original Malpensa Express goes to the Cordona train station and does not stop at the main Milan train station. The new train run does go to the main Milan train station. Here's the link. http://orario.trenitalia.com/b2c/nppPriceTravelSolutions.do?car=0&stazin=milano+malpensa&stazout=milan&datag=30&datam=03&dataa=2011&timsh=07&stazin_r=Staz_DA&stazout_r=Staz_A&timsm=54&timsm_r=54&lang=en&nreq=5&channel=tcom&npag=1&lang_r=en&nreq_r=5&channel_r=tcom&npag_r=1&x=31&y=10 Note two differences. In the arrival column, MI N CA is Cardona. MI C LE is Milan Centrale. Second, the fare to Cardona is 11E. The fare to Milan Centrale is 7E

Raj, the Rick Steves Italy 2011 book is loaded with answers to exactly that sort of standard question. If you haven't bought it yet, it will be the smartest money you spend on your trip. Have a great trip.

Just to clarify any possible confusion in the responses. In the past the only transit to the Centrale train stations from the airport was the shuttle bus mentioned above. However, last Sept/Oct regular train service to Centrale has been established. Since you are taking the train to Florence I would use the train service. The shuttle bus dumps you on the SE corner of the station and it is a bit of a hike to the front of the station and then to the tracks. But you could use either. The bus runs every 20 and the train every 30 but the train is faster.
