Milan Airport to Milan Central at Night

Hi Folks,

I arrive at Milan on Dec 19th and my flight lands at 19:45. Assuming i take 1 hour to clear customs and get baggage is it safe to take train to my hotel in Milan Central ( Say EuroHotel o C-Hotel etc) ?

Im travelling with my Wife and 12 year old kid.

Thanks
Hari

19:45 isn't night in Italy, it's 15 minutes before dinner time. You'll see young people headed to the big city for the night out getting on at intermediate stops.

I wonder in which country is unsafe to ride trains in the early evening, but neither US nor Italy are one of them. Not yet.

my flight lands at 19:45 so technically i may be catching train at 21 or 21:30.. an hour ride in train to reach Milan hotels that will be 22:30. So its not 15 min before dinner.

My question was is it safe to reach hotel from Milan central walking or taxi ?

Just to be safe, book the private car service I mentioned on the link I provided in my previous posting. You are traveling with a 12 year old kid and the kid might be tired that time of night. I am a parent too and for safety reasons I would do it. It will be cheaper then taxi from Malpensa to Central Milano which will cost 95€ for the trip.

When I stay in Milan, I take a coach bus from the airport to Milan central station, then walk about five minutes to the hotel I stay at. I’ve done it late at night and early in the morning and I am a single woman who travels alone. I’ve always felt safe.

We have arrived in Milan in the evening on many occasions, in fact arrived at MXP in the evening juts last month. We took the train to Centrale and stayed at Hotel Berna, a 5 minute walk from the station. All was in order.

There will be people out and about but no danger. Just mind yourselves and belongings and know where you are going.

You will be fine. The train will be fine because it will be filled with other travelers. If concerned about walking to the hotel, grab a cab from the taxi line.
