milan airport to la spezia via train

We will be flying into Milan and want to head almost directly to La Spezia (we have reservations in Manarola). Our plane arrives at 10:20 at Linate, so I suppose we might want to eat lunch before boarding the train. My question is... what is the best way to get from the airport to the train station?

Two choices -- bus or taxi. About 15, 20 minutes to Centrale. So taxi is probably best. The train has a grocery store (7/11 style) so buy a picnic lunch to eat on the train OR hit one of the restaurants in the train station.

Why are you going "directly to La Spezia", since your reservations are in Manarola. If coming from Milan, you will go past Manarola to reach La Spezia, and will then have to backtrack.

In the same situation, I'd probably use a departure from Milano Centrale at 12:10, arriving Manarola at 15:23 (time 3H:13M, one change in Levanto). That's about the quickest and easiest route, and you won't have to go to La Spezia and then waste time backtracking. Fare is currently listed at €17 PP.

As Frank suggested, take a Taxi from Linate to Milano Centrale, buy your train tickets and then either get a small meal at the station or get a Panino and beverage to take with you on the train. No sense in wasting time in Milan. If you want a quick "sit down meal", as I recall there's a Roadhouse Grill where you can get a Burger or whatever. The usual fast food restaurants (McDonalds, Burger King) also have outlets in the station, and there's at least one that sells Panini and other snacks.

Than you so much Ken. I am sure I realized this when I made all the reservations back in December. We are leaving next week and I was printing out all the info, including the directions to the place we are staying in Manarola. It gave directions from La Spezia, and I don’t even look at a map. I appreciate you taking time to correct my mistake.
