Milan Airport to downtown Milan

We are headed there in 2026. What is best way to get driven from airport to area around main train station in Milan.
Taxi or Uber?

Regards.

If you are asking about Milan Malpensa Airport, there is a fixed fare in to Milan.

There is also a train but to be honest, sometimes when I arrive I am done with crowds for a bit and just need the quietness of a taxi.

For the taxi, go directly to the taxi rank outside the arrivals area. There is good signage to the area and big signs saying there is a fixed rate for fares.

The best way is to take the train

Uber doesn’t really exist in Italy

A taxi would cost over 100 euros
Train is faster as taxi is dependent on traffic

Second what everyone here has said - as long as you are flying into Malpensa MXP - which is an hour away from the city. Take the train or bus into the city. If you want the area around the train station take the train.

Milan has three airports but the other you might be flying into is Linate LIN - which is closer - take the bus, metro or taxi which does not have a fixed fare and will probably be 30-50e depending on destination and traffic.

Have a great trip,

It’s only €15 for the train, the “Malpensa Express.”

If you are going to downtown and not catching another train from Milan Centrale make sure you take th Malpensa Express that goes to MILANO CADORNA station instead of the one going to Centrale. The train to Cadorna station takes only 35 min instead of 55, and the Cadorna station is next to the Sforza Castle and walking distance to the Duomo, therefore it is really in the heart of the historical center, where I imagine you plan to stay.

In August, several employees at the Hotel Berna told us to take the shuttle bus for 10 euros. There were several parked at the side of the train station. The employees said the train was having trouble due to water levels and electricity, so the shuttle buses were more reliable in this case.
