If you are asking about Milan Malpensa Airport, there is a fixed fare in to Milan.

There is also a train but to be honest, sometimes when I arrive I am done with crowds for a bit and just need the quietness of a taxi.
For the taxi, go directly to the taxi rank outside the arrivals area. There is good signage to the area and big signs saying there is a fixed rate for fares.
The best way is to take the train
Uber doesn’t really exist in Italy
A taxi would cost over 100 euros
Train is faster as taxi is dependent on traffic
Second what everyone here has said - as long as you are flying into Malpensa MXP - which is an hour away from the city. Take the train or bus into the city. If you want the area around the train station take the train.

Milan has three airports but the other you might be flying into is Linate LIN - which is closer - take the bus, metro or taxi which does not have a fixed fare and will probably be 30-50e depending on destination and traffic.

It’s only €15 for the train, the “Malpensa Express.”
If you are going to downtown and not catching another train from Milan Centrale make sure you take th Malpensa Express that goes to MILANO CADORNA station instead of the one going to Centrale. The train to Cadorna station takes only 35 min instead of 55, and the Cadorna station is next to the Sforza Castle and walking distance to the Duomo, therefore it is really in the heart of the historical center, where I imagine you plan to stay.
In August, several employees at the Hotel Berna told us to take the shuttle bus for 10 euros. There were several parked at the side of the train station. The employees said the train was having trouble due to water levels and electricity, so the shuttle buses were more reliable in this case.
Bus is easy.
Does the taxi to the city take credit cards or cash only?
Any problems with driver scams?
(I am thinking about the taxi drivers at Lisbon Airport who have a less than satisfactory reputation. Not the Lisbon taxis in general)

If you are afraid of any scam, who not using the Malpensa Express? There you can be sure not to be scammed and it is cheaper anyway.
Not afraid, but aware that in Lisbon, the taxis at the Arrivals have a reputation for taking advantage of overtired , older, non-Portuguese speaking tourists. BTW, elsewhere in Lisbon they are, by and large great
I was just checking to see if Milan has the same reputation
While we had planned to take the train, we decided that in for a penny in for a pound. This trip to a friend's wedding is turning out to be a very expensive project (I think we were spoiled by Portugal). The extra $100 for a cab is a rounding error and it will get us off on the right foot.

I don't of any general scram relating to Milan taxi drivers other than be careful with the change and make sure the credit card machine is working before getting in IF you intend to use a credit card. I have never had a problem with Italian taxis but use cash mostly and I slowly count what I am giving and what I get back. Take the train, it is super easy and relaxing. The main airport is a long ways from central Milan.
Take the Malpensa Express train, then the taxi from the station (Cadorna or Centrale) to your hotel, if needed. It’s faster and way cheaper (€15) compared to the taxi (€114 fixed taxi fare currently).
If spending that exorbitant amount of money taxi drivers charge in Milan, instead of the train, is not an issue, then why worry about being scammed?
Well, I took a taxi from the official taxi line at Malpensa last time I arrived there (2022). There are huge signs up in the terminal listing the transit options AND telling what the fixed rate is for taxis into Milan. If you are concerned, do a screen shot of one of the signs OR do a screen shot of this webpage and put it in your "Italy" album on your phone so it's handy. I had absolutely no problem. I held up my phone when the driver was loading my bad and said "Apple Pay"? Of course, he said.

I am a solo female traveler. By the time I get to my destination in Europe I've traveled 1 hour to my nearest airport by car, waited there, flown to SEA, waited there, flown to an International hub and in the case of Milan, waited in CDG for 3 hours and then completed the last leg. I'm tired of being with people and need some space which I can get in a taxi but can't get on a train.
Don't let people shame you into taking the train if what you really want/need is a taxi.
