We will be visiting Milan in May 2025. Probably 2 nights. We are interested in a concert on the 19th at La Scale, the Duomo, and also viewing The Last Supper. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good (but not super expensive!) BnB or hotel somewhere in that area of Milan?

I second Christina's suggestion. Hotel Gran Duca di York is about 5 or 6 minutes from the Duomo, maybe 10 from La Scala and about a 30 minute walk to the Last Supper.

We stayed at Hotel La Madonna a couple years ago. It’s literally a block south of the Duomo piazza - easy walk to most sites, a tram to the church for the Last Supper fresco that stops in front, and the desk can arrange a taxi if you need one.

Visitors to Milan, please note: The Milano Metro Card is a scam. We paid € 69 online for the card at ConetPass. We got a number for redemption, and were told to pick up the card at a tobacco shop in the Milano Central Station. There, after waiting in line for 30 minutes, we were told they knew nothing about such a card. Neither the police for the metro officials were helpful. They just shrugged their shoulders. Caveat Emptor.
