Mid-Planning Itinerary Check-In

Hello everyone - thanks in advance for the always helpful advice. We have booked accommodations for about half our trip to Italy in Mid-September, wanted to get any final thoughts before we lock in everything. Anything you would recommend changing? Should we change any days? Our time in Venice and Florence is locked in so hopefully not too many calls for changes there.

Day 1: Arrive in Venice AM/Jet lag day
Day 2: Venice
Day 3: Venice
Day 4: Venice (think we have enough time for Murano/Burano?)
Day 5: Travel to Florence
Day 6: Florence
Day 7: Florence
Day 8: Train to Siena, walk through Siena for 2-3 hours. Rent car in Siena, drive through Val d'Orcia on our way to Montepulciano
Day 9: Montepulciano (Montepulciano Vineyards, explore Pienza)
Day 10: Montepulciano (Brunello vineyards, relax)
Day 11: Montepulciano (hot springs, relax)
Day 12: Drive to Orvieto to drop off car, train to Rome.
Day 13: Rome
Day 14: Rome
Day 15: Rome
Day 16: Rome
Day 17: Rome
Day 18: Fly Home in AM

Thanks!

My only thought is that Orvieto is worth a lot of time if you haven't been there before. It is really lovely.

Looks well thought out to me.

You may want to research Orvieto and see if you want to spend a night there as a trade off for a night in Rome or Montepulciano.

I think it is excellent. While Orvieto is nice enough, I would not take a night from Rome. Stop there for dropping the car and have a nice lunch. If you think it calls to you, plan to stay there on another trip. You will have a nice hill town-small town experience in Montepulciano / environs, to which you have allocated a nice amount of time.

Yes, you have plenty of time for a Murano, Burano, and Torcello day trip. Do go the extra stop to Torcello, the birthpalce of Venice.
