Michelangelo's Secret Room

If we have tickets to see Michelangelo's Secret Room at 9:00, can we enter the Medici Chapels earlier?

Do we use the regular entrance?

Our ticket is for the 9-10:30 time slot. Does that mean we can stay for just about the entire 90 minutes?

Do I understand correctly that only two people are allowed per time slot?

I'm glad you asked this. I'd forgotten that the room was open. I'll be in Florence in December and would like to see this, so I'll follow along to see the responses you get.

I also have a ticket for an October visit, purchased via the official Musei del Bargello (B ticket) site. However, my ticket shows the date and entry time of 9am, not a 9-1030 slot. It’s my understanding that it is a 15 minute visit to the Secret Room with a total of 4 persons per each time slot entering via a narrow staircase of 12 steps. I would assume one would head to the main entrance for check-in, that’s my plan. The chapel opens at 8:15 daily (closed on Tuesdays). It may very well be possible to visit prior to the Secret Room. You could send a message via email or even Facebook messenger, they’re very responsive. Enjoy the experience!

B-ticket shows timeslots as 9-10:30, 10:30-12, etc.. The ticket itself just shows 9:00.

Looking today, I seem to have misinterpreted the statement that you could only book groups of up to two people. I's four people per time slot for 15 minutes, after which they let the room rest for 75 minutes. For example, https://theflorenceinsider.com/michelangelo-secret-room/

I've been twice. You can enter early and stay afterwards. There are more than 2 people. I had two the first time and 4 the second time. You enter the regular entrance and will be escorted down into the room at your time slot.

I went in April 2025 arriving at the main entrance about 30 minutes before my appointment time. I was told to go to a specific bench to wait a few minutes before my particular time slot and was free to visit the Medici chapel before and after my visit to the secret room. Four people plus the guide are allowed at one time. A note for those with mobility issues: You will need to navigate a rather steep set of stairs. I wasn’t aware of this ahead of time and was able to do it with a bit of difficulty. Highly recommend the experience.
