Melpensa Airport area shopping mall?

Hello. Any shopping malls within a short taxi or convenient train ride from Melpensa Airport? Just something like a traditional city shopping mall like in any U.S. city is all I need. Heading south tomorrow and so need to buy some new walking shoes and short sleeve shirts. Thank you.

Inside the Malpensa airport it is a shopping center, with lots of famous brand stores. Not the cheapest place to shop, but convenient.
Otherwise, in the surrounding area, I usually shop at a shopping center called MALPENSA UNO. It’s in Gallarate. Not huge, but it’s the closest thing to an American type mall near the airport.
The city of Milan would have more of the malls you are used to. However most are outside the city center.
However, there are apparel shops everywhere that sell shoes or shirts. Does it need to be inside a mall to satisfy your needs?

Grazie Mille, Roberto. The shopping area in the airport would have been perfect, but it’s only available to those departing. I did see UNO in a Google search. Looks like there could be several shops to choose from there. Anyplace else nearby that would have something like traditional American department stores would be perfect. I appreciate your reply. Just what I wanted to know. Thank you.

Heading south tomorrow and so need to buy some new walking shoes and short sleeve shirts.

If you'll be heading to Milano Centrale (Milan's Central train station), there's a shoe store very near that sells comfortable shoes.
The name of the shop is 'Dirienzo Calzature' on Via Vetruvio, 43. . When you arrive at Milano Centrale, go down to the ground floor, exit toward Piazza Duca d'Aosta, then turn left on the street right in front of the station. There are also many shops within Milano Centrale, including a Nike store.

I hope this helps!

need to buy some new walking shoes

Remember to also buy some tape and/or bandages. With new shoes you are likely to get blisters.

Thank you for the great suggestions. There wasn’t much at UNO, but I was able to get some needed items at the CVS/K-Mart type of store. Not much for men at UNO.

And thank you, @Pracilla for your recommendation (they even had Ecco, my fave). That was great choice, but they looked at me like I was a monster with my size 47 (12.5) lol.

However, I finally found a pair of New Balance a few lights down the road and to the right on Corso Buenos Aires. There were an soooooo many options there.

Just wanted to share if anyone else needs a place to find basic, affordable clothing or accessories.

Gregory,

Thanks for the update! It’s great to hear that you found what you needed.

I’ll have to go to Corso Buenos Aires next time I’m in Milan. I just checked Google maps and found a couple of my favorite stores there; OVS and Tezenis!

Enjoy your trip!
