Meeting up with other recovering Alcoholics while on Tour

Hi All-
I am a newly recovering alcoholic. I would appreciate any and all suggestions on how to find AA meetings and/or meet up with other recovering alcoholics either on the tour and in the towns we visit. I am taking the 17 day tour from Sept 3-Sept. 20th.
Many thanks for your help

Heather, just like here in the states, you will find plenty of meetings to attend - a few of the major cities will even offer an English speaking meeting. Your hotel or city information center should have a list. My friends who are "friends of Bill W" always researched the international directory of AA and planed their meetings first and then their daily itinerary in any given country. Best of luck.Work the program & have a great trip!!!!

Here is the European website for English speaking meetings: http://www.aa-europe.net

This will give you a very updated listing of all the meetings in Continental Europe. Relying on a book that is probably a year or two old doesn't sound like a good idea. Many big cities have lots of meetings, but you might be out of luck with the smaller towns. You can go to a meeting being held in the native language though. People might be more accommodating than you can imagine. If you need more info than what is on the website, write an email and you will get your questions answered privately.

Heather - I know you've heard this - it works if you work it. Planning ahead for this important aspect of your personal journey will build upon your recovery foundation and enrich your travel experience in unique and very personal ways. I'm rooting for you. Peace.
