If they're coming in on the train, they'll be coming off of the Leonardo Express on Track 24. I'd meet at the end of Track 24 where it feeds out into the main train station.

I agree with Liz that meeting at the end of the track would work and be easy.

One place that comes to mind for me is the book store which is near the main ticket counter. The books store is enclosed in glass. It is multiple stories, but not so large that you could not find someone. It may just be me, but I always like browsing in bookstores when I'm waiting for someone.

The website below has info about the major train stations in Rome including maps and a list of shops and restaurants. Another option would be to pick one of the cafes and get a coffee.

Ok - this can get very confusing!.. There are two McDonald's inside the station (ground level and lower level) and one just outside the south exit on Via Giolitt!

Just recently the Leonardo Express changed to Binari #25 (instead of 24) and that's a satellite track, 5 minuites walk AWAY from the station. (Let's hope trenitalia comes to their senses and move it back to Track 24!!!)

So I would just pick a track in the main area --- #'s 1-24 to meet at. I like Track 18 because it's close to the Express but under an arrival board!

The top floor of the bookstore is where all the English speaking books are... and they do have some good deals!

Here's a map of the terminal:

They may change the arrival track for the train. Friends should check the arrival announcement panel for track number just to be sure.

Or pick a place that is one of a kind--not like McDonalds. Choose one particular counter or the Tourist Information Office.

Ron and Laura,
Thanks for the maps of the train station. Itried last night in Google looking for a layout of the station but was unable to find what I wanted. I think the book store would be the best placce to meet. Shouldn't be to hard to find that.
Again thanks for the info from everyone.

James,

I was going to also suggest the McDonald's which is on the same level as the tracks, as it's well marked and easy to spot. As I recall, there's a Roadhouse Grill near one of the side entrances (on the right side when facing the front of the station), which also might be a good spot to meet.

Cheers!
